We would like to thank everyone in the community for their suggestions of better times and dates for storytime. Based on your survey responses, the storytime schedule has a complete new look.

The new storytime schedule goes into effect for the Fall/Winter session. Storytime will begin Monday September 9th and go through the month of November.

Make sure to take a good look before heading to the library for storytime as no class remained at the same time. Additional storytimes have been added to the schedule. We now offer 11 weekly storytime options. Some of the new changes include adding the highly requested afternoon storytimes for children three to five years old. Another change is that Polish storytimes have been moved to morning and afternoon time slots to hopefully fit better in the children's daily routine.  We also made family storytime, an all ages storytime, a part of the weekly schedule. Many thanks to all the families who made its trial phase this summer so much fun.

Perfecting the storytime schedule will take time, and we'd love to hear some feedback on these new changes. Please drop by the Kids Desk to let us know your thoughts. The new schedule will be reassessed based on your feedback before the Winter/Spring session starts in January. We appreciate your patience during this transition period.

You can check out the new storytime schedule online or by stopping by Kids World.

Thanks again for taking the time to complete the survey!

The Library Lock-in Program

All Lock-in attendees will be contacted by the end of today, Friday July 5th.

If you are one of the lucky ones attending, please remember to bring:

  • your socks!  This is important because you cannot go barefoot.
  • sleepwear consisting of a t-shirt top (no tank tops) and long pants. It gets cold in the library at night.
  • pillow
  • sleeping bag
  • toothbrush & toothpaste
  • a 6 inch flashlight. We play flashlight games and you do not want to be left out.

If you have lost your list of items to bring that was attached to your permission form, you can pick up a copy at the Kids World desk.

Congratulations to everyone attending, and we will see you on Friday July 19th at 7pm.

Movie Monday: Wreck-it Ralph Additional Viewing

The additional viewing of the movie will occur earlier at 10:00 am, and will be for those who submitted registration requests after the original time slot had been filled.

Email reminder notices will be sent out with the time of the movie your child has been registered for. You may contact the Kids World desk to verify your child's registration.

As with all programs, priority goes to Norridge and Harwood Heights cardholders. Only children who are registered have guaranteed seats. Seats are guaranteed until 10 minutes after the program has started. After that period, seats become available to anyone on a first come, first served basis.

If you have registered for the program and know you will be unable to attend, please contact the Kids World desk to cancel.
