Congratulations to all the participants of this year's Battle Season. Quite a few teams rallied in Battle 5, putting out impressive scores. However, it is the teams with the highest overall score that have made it to the top of the leader board.
St. Monica Blue has taken first place. St. Monica White follows in second place. Third place goes to St. Eugene.
We look forward to seeing all the participants at the Award Ceremony on March 21st at 4:00pm, where the author, Michele Weber Hurwitz, will be speaking and answering questions. We will follow with an author signing and pizza. See you there!
Battle Four created some significant movement in the leader boards. Congratulations to all the teams for their efforts. We look forward to seeing what the final Battle brings.
Just a reminder, there are no challenges allowed in Battle 5. Rest assured, all the questions will be gone over to make sure they are as fair as possible.
See you next week!
Congratulations on a great third battle.
We thank the participants for completing the Battle Survey. We are tallying the results and will be able to annouce the repeating books very soon.
See you next week!
Congratulations to all of the teams for a very close scoring Battle 2.
We look forward to seeing what everyone can do during Battle 3. See you next week!
Thank you for your patience in awaiting these scores. The large quantity of snow caused the Library to close early on Thursday and remain so on Friday, creating this delay. Hopefully, the anticipation will be worth it.
Congratulations to all of the teams for their efforts during Battle 1. These scores are added to the running total that will determine the winner of this Battle Season.
After this first Battle, the scores remain pretty tight. There are some outstanding challenges which will be reviewed. Any additional points awarded from those challenges will be added to Battle 2's scores.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.
Congratulations on a great effort during Practice Battle.
Please note: you will note see any points from challenged questions in the scores posted here. Any possible points received from challenges made during Practice Battle would be awarded during the beginning of the next battle and go toward's that battle's total score. However, Practice Battle is where the points do not matter, so there will be no additional points awarded, however, we will let you know how the challenges would have turned out.
A few things to remember when answering questions at Battle 1:
* Questions worth multiple points will require the number of answers that the question is worth. For example: a question worth three points, will require three of the multiple choices letters or, in the case of a fill-in-the-blanks, three words to answer fully.
* Matching questions will use a column of numbers that should be matched with a column of letters.
* The timer does not start until Miss Tiffany has finished reading the question on the screen. When time's up, the team may no longer write on their answer sheet.
We look forward to seeing everyone next week!

In the winner's circle: Giles took the lead early during Battle 5 and held on, earning them first place overall. Union Ridge is in second place, and St. Eugene takes third.
We look forward to seeing everyone next week at the Awards Ceremony. Remember, the Awards Ceremony is more than just handing out the trophies. We'll have our guest speaker and book/certificate signing as well as the promised pizza. See you there!
The leaderboard remains very tight. Congratulations to the teams for a fine battle.
Remember, warnings are given for not only how you behave to other teams, but how you behave to your teammates. Name calling and blame dispersal is not conducive to focused battle team. If you get a question wrong, just refocus on the next one.
There were many challenges issued to various questions. These challenges will be evaluated over the coming week. If any additional points are awarded, they will be handed out before Battle 5 commences and included as part of Battle 5's score.
We look forward to seeing every next week for the final Battle of the 2016-2017 Battle season. Good luck!
