On Saturday, February 25, from 12:00 - 4:00 PM, the Friends of the Library group is doing some early bird spring cleaning in the Book Sale Room! Purchase a bag (Friends members: $3.00. Non-members: $4.00) and fill it with books. This sale applies only to books in the Book Sale Room.
Over the last three years, the number of eBooks checked out by Eisenhower Library users has more than doubled. If you love reading books on your eReader or mobile device, we have great news. With Media on Demand, our eBook lending service, you can now borrow as many as ten books each month.
To get started, visit mediaondemand.org. If you live in Norridge or Harwood Heights, choose Eisenhower as your library. Then, enter your library card number and PIN. Unless you changed it, your PIN is probably the last four digits of your phone number. The Chicago Public Library offers a similar eBook service for those living in Chicago. Visit chipublib.overdrive.com to try it out.
If you need help with eBooks at Eisenhower we're always happy to assist. Give us a call at 708-867-2299 or drop by the Answers Desk.
We’ll be closed from Saturday, December 24th through Monday, December 26th, and then again from Saturday December 31st through Monday, January 2nd.
Even though we won’t be open, you’ll still be able to use many library resources.
On Wednesday, December 21st, after 6:00 pm, all of the computers in the library will be unavailable as they undergo upgrades. We will have laptops available as temporary replacements. Ask at any library service desk for assistance.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Our new Teen Space is now open! There are a few little construction details still to be finished but, if you are in grades 6-12, please feel free to use the Teen Space to study (finals week) and socialize. Tell your friends.
Over the weekend of December 3rd and 4th, our catalog will be upgraded to improve your experience when searching for books, movies, music, or any other library materials.
During this weekend the library catalog will be down. You will be unable to search, place holds, or check your library account. In-library loans will be working as normal, however we ask that you bring your library card with you when checking out items.
We'll be closed on Thursday, November 24th for Thanksgiving and closing at 5:00 pm the day before. Even though we won't be open, you'll still be able to use many library resources.
Search the catalog and place holds; download an eBook with Media on Demand; stream movies, audiobooks, and more with Hoopla; or expand your technical and creative skills with Lynda.com.
