Polish Heritage Book Club: The Painted Bird

October 11th,
3:00pm to 4:30pm
Join us every other month for an English-language book discussion group focused on literature related to Poland and Polish culture.

This month we're discussing The Painted Bird by Jerzy Kosinski.

A young boy, abandoned by his parents during World War II, wanders from one village to another, sometimes hounded and tortured, only rarely sheltered and cared for. Through sparse prose and vivid imagery, Kosinski's novel is a story of mythic proportion, even more relevant to today's society than it was upon its original publication.

Garden Club

October 3rd,
6:00pm to 7:00pm
Join us on the first Wednesday of every month to talk about bulbs, bushes, berries and begonias. We'll discuss everything from window boxes to victory gardens.
