As a support group for the Library, we are always looking for new faces
and ideas. Please feel free to join us at our next meeting. Items on the agenda include the election of new officers, Treasurer's report, Library Director's report, fund-raising ideas, new membership campaign, and the use of funds.

 | JEWEL-OSCO Benefit Days...Our next dates are August 29-24-31. Shop & share slips for benefit days at JEWEL were mailed to members. Additional slips will be available at the Eisenhower Library. | |

| MEMBERSHIP CARDS & DUES...membership cards were mailed to all FRIENDS MEMBERS with a 12/05 expiration date. Going forward ALL memberships will expire in December and a renewal notice will be sent with the winter newsletter. With the recent addition of over 50 new members, we have in the neighborhood of 220 FRIENDS. We would like to retain current members and continue to grow. Your membership fee, book sale proceeds, calendar sales, and other fund raisers provide the Eisenhower Library with additional funds to buy books and equipment, support on-going programs, and fund special projects. | |

| ECOPHONES FUNDFAISER...coinciding with the BOOK SALE, the Friends will begin collecting your old CELLULAR PHONES, CELLULAR BATTERIES and INK JET CARTRIDGES. Friends of the Eisenhower Library will receive cash for these items, you will be rid of them, and they will be properly recycled. Please look for the ECOPHONE donation container at the Book Sale and at the Circulation Desk. | |

| MAGAZINE PARTNERS PROGRAM...you can now order your favorite magazines and help support the Friends of the Eisenhower Library. This service from Readers Digest and Friends of Libraries allows you to access an ordering page for the Friends of the Eisenhower Library. From there you can subscribe and/or renew magazine subscriptions and our group will receive 40% of the renewal price. Choose from over 650 magazines. You do not have to be a FRIEND to use this service, encourage others you know to do their magazine subscriptions through this program. |
For an annual dues of $5.00 for an individual and $10.00 for a family you will receive special program notifications, an annual flyer and admission to the annual book sale members night. Family membership includes one free video checkout.
Your membership will enable the Library to purchase books of local interest and materials for the summer reading program each year. They have purchased the checkout typewriters, globe, various library furniture including our display case and other items as the library staff recommends. Their primary fund raising tools are the Annual Book Sale and the Jewel, Dominick's and Borders Books days. The Friends meet twice a year, in October or November and in March or April.
