When Radio Went to War

World War II marked the first time that radio brought news of war directly to the American people. Those Were the Days host Steve Darnall examines the ways that radio met the challenges of the war, with samples of news broadcasts, presidential speeches, shows created to entertain the troops, and more.

Page to Screen Book Club: The Joy Luck Club

Every month the Page to Screen Club watches a movie and discusses the book from which it was adapted.

This month we'll watch The Joy Luck Club after reading the novel by Amy Tan. Copies of the book will be available at the Library Services Desk approximately one month before the screening.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Pen and Ink Writers Group

The Pen and Ink Writers Group gathers on the third Monday of each month to read short stories, poems or essays, all inspired by a common theme. Build up your writing skills through practice, presentation and positive critique.

U Make: Slime

Calling all young scientists! Sticky, goopy, and squishy... Who doesn't like slime? Learn how to make a few kinds of slime and different ways to play with it. Bring a parent or guardian age 14 or older who will assist with the slime science.

Modern Times Film Series: Black Panther
