VHS to DVD Conversion

Save your precious wedding, vacations, and other family memories by learning how to convert your VHS home movies to DVD.

In-person and phone registration starts February 3rd for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with valid library cards. Online registration for everyone starts February 10th.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Embroider a Shirt, Fold it Like a Pro

Come join us for this practical crafternoon in the Workshop. We will embroider a shirt and then discuss different folding styles for storage at home. Shirts will be provided. For adults and teens in grade 7 and up. Must have a library card and a Workshop waiver on file.

Bring Your Own Book Club

Come to the book club with no required reading! Bring a book or two (any length, any genre) to discuss with fellow readers and librarians. Enjoy a snack and get ideas for your to-be-read list.

Kids Write Away Redux

Want to become the next famous author? Join us for one or all three classes this spring! The themes for each class are, "Comics Away," "Let's Write a Song," and "How Long Can You Write?"

Summer! Eat Seasonally and Locally

Farmer's Markets begin in June, and offer a  great variety of local produce.  Camille Stagg will review crops and their usual harvest times.From berries and herbs to sweet corn, lettuce and other greens, peppers, tomatoes, summer squash and  more, she will offer tips on storing and preparing.

The Blues from W C Handy to the Present

Join Jon Shain the 2019 Int'l Blues Challenge winner, and F J  Ventre for songs from WC Handy, father of the blues, to the present.

It Happened in Chicago

Storyteller William Pack presentsa collection of unusual short stories that add texture and depth to the everyday life and history of Chicago and celebrates the surprising people who lived and died in the city of big shoulders.
