Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Crochet-o-rama: Kitchen Scrubbies

$5.00 - Make your own scrubbies, great for washing dishes and fun to make for those with basic crochet knowledge. The registration fee covers the cost of yarn, crochet hook, and project guide.

Sew-Lutions Saturday

Learn the Serger

A serger makes a more professional and durable seam than a standard sewing machine, especially for fabrics that have stretch. Learn to use this tool as a great addition to your sewing arsenal.

Heroes of Science

Pen and Ink Writers Group

The Pen and Ink Writers Group gathers on the third Monday of each month to read short stories, poems or essays, all inspired by a common theme. Build up your writing skills through practice, presentation and positive critique.

Bus Trip: Shopping in Lincoln Square

$20.00 - Chicago's Lincoln Square is the perfect place for a shopping spree. Visit The Book Cellar, Savory Spice, Laurie's Planet of Sound, Merz Apothecary, Timeless Toys, The Chopping Block, Gene's Sausage Shop, the Old Town School of Folk Music, and more. Enjoy lunch at any of the neighborhood's many restaurants.

Monarch Butterflies

One of the most recognizable species of butterflies in North America, monarchs are beautiful and interesting. Camille Paul will discuss the monarch butterfly's habitat, diet, life history, and more. This program is presented by the Seniors Assistance Center.

Learn the Embroidery Machine
