Movie Makers Workshop

August 24th,
1:00pm to 4:00pm
In this two-part hands-on workshop, learn the art of filmmaking from script to screen. You'll write, shoot, and edit your own incredible mini-movie. We'll provide cameras but you can bring your own if you choose. 

Registration begins May 6 for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with valid library cards. Registration for all begins May 13.

Friends Book Sale

Look for the Friends of the Library in the Book Sale Room on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month to support the library and find great deals.

Teen Music Club

August 27th,
4:00pm to 6:00pm
Music fans of all levels in grades 7-12 are invited to hang out with friends and geek out about music. During each session, we'll talk about music, write songs, learn some instruments, and make recordings in the Workshop studio. Bring your ideas, instruments, and friends.

Modern Times Film Series: First Man

The Modern Times Film series showcases new additions to the library's movie collection. This month's movie will be First Man.

A look at the life of the astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969. 2018. 2h 21m. PG-13.

Learn Tunisian Crochet

August 28th,
3:00pm to 5:00pm
$5.00 - Learn Tunisian Crochet stitches and create a cotton dish cloth or hot pad using the stitches you have learned. No previous experience necessary.The registration fee covers the cost of yarn, crochet hook, and project guide. This class is for adults and teens in 7th grade and up.

Kids Write Away Redux

Grades 4-6. Registration Required.

Want to become the next famous author? Join us for one or all three classes this summer! The themes for each class are, "Unforgettable Book Titles," "To Prologue or Not to Prologue," and "Memorable First Lines."

Registration starts May 28th for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with valid library cards. Online registration for everyone starts June 3rd. Priority for Kids programs is given to Norridge and Harwood Heights residents.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Copies of the book are available at the Library Services Desk one month before the discussion. If you are new to the club, please consider attending the Monday evening session.
