Heartland: A Musical History of Illinois

Folksongs, stories, and images covering the width and breadth of the state of Illinois are presented in this multi-media program for the whole family. Bring your singing voice and sing along!

NaNoWriMo Write Your Novel Here

National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo), encourages aspiring authors to take on the challenge of writing a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.

Every Sunday during November we're offering quiet space in our second floor Conference Room for NaNoWriMo participants. For access, ask at the Answers Desk.

Pen and Ink Writers Group

November 19th,

The Pen and Ink Writers Group gathers on the third Monday of each month to read short stories, poems or essays, all inspired by a common theme. Build up your writing skills through practice, presentation and positive critique.

Miss Jamie's Farm

Ages 12 & Under. Registration Required. Kids seven and under should bring an adult.

U Make: Slime

Grades 1-3, with a parent or guardian. Registration Required.

Calling all young scientists! Sticky, goopy, and squishy... Who doesn't like slime? Learn how to make a few kinds of slime and different ways to play with it. Bring a parent or guardian age 14 or older who will assist with the slime science.

Modern Times Film Series: Black Panther

The Modern Times Film series showcases new additions to the library's movie collection.

This month's movie will be Black Panther. The new king of a technologically advanced African nation, is challenged by a vengeful outsider and a black-market arms dealer. 2018. PG-13. 2h 14m.

Look for the Friends of the Library in the Book Sale on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month to support the library and find great deals. Hardcovers, DVDs & CDs: $1.00. Paperbacks: 50 cents.

Family Fireplace Photo Day

November 25th,
11:00am to 4:30pm
The beautiful fireplace in our Quiet Room will serve as a backdrop for family photos and a photographer will provide you with a digital photo for your holiday cards. Photos will be limited to a maximum of three poses. Pets are welcome during morning time slots.
