Bus Trip: Singin' In The Rain at the Chicago Symphony

MGM's Singin' in the Rain, starring Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds, features some of the most iconic dance sequences and enduring songs ever to grace the silver screen. Roger Ebert wrote of this cinematic masterpiece, Singin' in the Rain is a transcendent experience, and no one who loves movies can afford to miss it." Dining is not included in this trip.

Making Marcel Duchamp

On February 4th, Augustus Rose will visit Eisenhower to discuss his book The Readymade Thief, the story of homeless teen who gets involved with a shadowy society obsessed with the artist Marcel Duchamp. To prepare, we'll examine his work and then create our own collages inspired by Duchamp.

Preschool Playtime

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Book A Listener

Registration Required, Ages 12 and under

Readers are invited to read out loud to one of the Kids World librarians for 10-15 minutes in these individual sessions geared for individuals who are not confident readers or for whom additional practice is needed to be at grade level. Please be sure to bring the reader's desired reading material to the session.
