Friends Book Sale

Our Lady of the Angels Fire

Historian Jim Gibbons presents the story of the tragic fire that killed 92 children and three nuns on December 1st, 1958. This lecture will be the same one presented on the Our Lady of the Angels Bus Tour on May 23rd, for those unable to attend the tour.

Kids Write Away Redux

Want to become the next famous author? Come join us for one or all three classes this winter! The themes for each class are, "Pretty Amazing Poetry", "Plot Your Story" and "What's the Theme?".

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Civil War Discussion

Join Tom DeFranco for a monthly discussion of Civil War related books, events and historical figures.

Learn the Embroidery Machine

Learn to use one of our Workshop tools, the embroidery machine. You will learn the basics of threading the machine and using the computer program to embroider.

Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Contest

June 2nd,
5:00pm to 7:00pm
We'll supply the chalk, you supply the creativity. Use one of the sidewalk squares around the library to create a masterpiece and maybe win a prize.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place. Age categories are preK-grade 3, grades 4-6, grades 7-8, grades 9-12, adult, and family.

Where do you want to go this summer? Journey from the bottom of the ocean, to undiscovered planets, to a fantasy kingdom far far away; a book can take you anywhere. Register in Kids World starting May 25th for your book log and program details.

Stop in once each week from June 11th through August 3rd with your log to get great prizes. Read 500 minutes or more for extra prizes and a chance to win a grand prize raffle or participate in our ice cream social.
