Kids Concert: Music by Little Miss Ann

Battle of the Books

4:00pm to 5:00pm
Battle of the Books challenges students in grades four through six to become familiar with literature. Comprehension and retention are put to the test in a Jeopardy style battle between the teams.

Area schools create their own teams and gather at the library to compete in a five-week battle on questions derived from selected books. See your school's Battle Coach to sign up.

Kids Write Away Redux

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers Critique Group

Join us on the fourth Friday of each month this fall for constructive criticism and moral support from fellow writers. Bring up to ten pages of your work in progress for comments, critiques, and encouragement for National Novel Writing Month in November.

The Carvey machine engraves, carves, or cuts flat materials like wood, plastic, and metal. Learn the basics of the Carvey's software and create a personalized wooden bookmark. Adults and teens 7th grade and up.

Garden Club: Milkweed and Monarchs

Monarch butterflies are important members of our ecosystem. Author, photographer, and butterfly fan Jamie Kanas will help you make your garden more hospitable to monarchs and offer advice on how you can contribute to butterfly conservation efforts.
