BUILDING AND GROUNDS
Landscape Design- Anne Roberts Gardens Concept Plan—
Anne Roberts and her associate Ariana Sky attended the meeting and presented their designs to the Board. Due to the Harwood Height city code there has to be a certain amount of green space in the parking lot. The birch trees will be planted about 5 feet away from the building. They will be 6 to 8 feel tall when planted and they will have beautiful bark. The winterberry plants will hold color during the winter months. The shrubs will be around 4-5 ft. installed. The birch trees will be planted a little off centered of the windows. Anne Roberts also presented designs of the herb garden and the sundial with boulders for seating and natural stones around that area. She advised that there are grants out there for pollinator gardens. They also showed some of the plantings they would like to do. They gave the board an informational booklet of the plants and where things will be planted. Director Wittmann suggested educational and/or informational signs out by the planting areas like the herb garden. Anne Roberts advised that irrigation is the key to making sure everything survives. They can do an irrigation plan as well. Trustee Magnuson asked about the time frame for the landscaping. Anne Roberts advised that the removals are first and that will take a few days, then they will do the actual staging and gardens, put in boulders and stones first and large trees, then the smaller sections go in next. The project is estimated to take two weeks. Director Wittmann received a proposal from Anne Roberts however, she is checking with the lawyer to see if we need to go out to bid.
Trustee Ross moved, seconded by Trustee Braun, THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED. A voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
The Committee Meeting was adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
